Meet the Trainers

Jo Major
Jo has a twenty-year+ career in the Recruitment Industry behind her. Her work has helped to grow businesses, schools, charities, and enterprises, and has shaped the careers of some outstanding humans. Jo has developed strategic Social Mobility & Diversity & Inclusions programmes that build and improve recruitment agency culture, engage employees, and make recruitment businesses better places to work and partner with. She founded Diversity in Recruitment because of her absolute drive to get D&I on the agenda of recruitment businesses, no matter what their size and capacity – her training and advice helps recruitment businesses get to grips with diversity and inclusion and gives recruiters the insight, tools, and confidence to attract diverse and under-represented talent, secure better business and confidently partner with their clients.

Faisel Choudhry MVO
Faisel has over 20 years of successful management experience 11 of which were at strategic level from The Royal Household (based in Buckingham Palace) and The Bank of England. He holds an Executive MBA from Henley Business School, is an accredited Executive Coach from the International Coaching Federation (ACC) and a Diversity & Inclusion trainer. Specialist areas of D&I are unconscious and conscious biases, social mobility challenges as well and race and gender. The training helps companies identify gaps in the D&I space, as well as providing solutions to address the D&I delta.

Chikere Igbokwe
Chikere is an experienced
Executive Recruiter and D&I Leader. She is
passionate about Diversity, Inclusion and
Equality and the role recruitment plays
especially when it comes to recruiting
diverse and unrepresented talent. She is on
a mission to make organisations more
diverse and inclusive and to equip them
with the knowhow to be change agents.
Chikere is the Founder of Inclucive.co.uk, a
D&I Consultancy and Allyship.co.uk – a
community for Allies to learn, connect and
fully understand the discrimination faced
by Black and Minority groups.

Jina Etienne, CPA
Jina has a 32+ year career as
an entrepreneur, business consultant and
C-Suite leader. After a 21 year career in
public accounting, including 17 years
running her own CPA firm, she shifted to
serving the profession as a Director at the
American Institute of CPAs then President
& CEO of the National Association of Black
Accountants, Inc. She went on to become
the first national leader for D&I at Grant
Thornton, the 6th largest CPA firm in the
United States.

Adil Husseini
Adil has over 18 years’ experience working in Marketing and Communication. He has previously served as the Head of Communications at Islamic Relief, where he devised and built the global communications and marketing strategy and as the Director of Marketing and Fundraising at the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) where he led seven appeals, generating over £320million.
He has successfully advised many organisations on how to make their campaigns diverse and inclusive including London’s Air Ambulance, British Red Cross and the British Asian Trust. Offering them valuable behavioural insight and tailoring their engagement strategy accordingly.

Basit Khan
Basit has over 18 years’ experience working in Business Development across various sectors, including financial services, tax planning and fundraising. Having spent the early part of his career advising high net worth individuals with their financial and tax planning needs, he went on to become the Head of Fundraising at Islamic Relief, where he was instrumental in building a major giving department and increasing voluntary income to £30million.
Basit is a leading expert in engagement with diverse communities, having developed strategies and policies for many organisations including Save the Children, UNICEF and UNHCR. He also supports organisations to bring about cultural change as part of their equality and diversity programme, at both a governance and operational level.
