Our client is an early-stage biotech + AI company reimagining how therapeutic knowledge is captured and shared throughout drug development. Their platform streamlines complex regulatory workflows by intelligently infusing each step with AI — helping bring safe, effective drugs to patients faster and more efficiently.

They’re hiring an AI Engineering Team Lead to manage and grow a small but exceptional team responsible for developing core AI capabilities. This person will own architectural decisions, drive technical strategy, and maintain hands-on involvement while mentoring and scaling the team. The role reports directly to the CTO.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and grow a team of 3+ AI Engineers

  • Set and uphold a high bar for technical excellence and execution speed

  • Drive architectural direction and AI roadmap in partnership with Product and Engineering

  • Build scalable production systems that integrate LLMs and emerging AI frameworks

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture

  • Stay hands-on through code reviews, experimentation, and architecture discussions

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience at an early-stage, product-driven startup (<50 people)

  • Deep experience building production software with LLMs-in-the-loop

  • Strong background experimenting with and implementing emerging AI frameworks

  • Proven ability to design and deploy robust, scalable AI systems

  • Track record of mentoring engineers and leading high-impact teams

  • Data-first mindset and experience in privacy-sensitive or regulated environments (healthcare, finance, etc.)

Why It’s Exciting

  • Build foundational AI infrastructure accelerating real-world medical innovation

  • Work directly with a world-class technical leadership team

  • $245-275k base salary + equity

  • Comprehensive benefits, generous PTO, and strong growth opportunities
