Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing, venture-backed technology company building innovative, AI-powered software for a specialized industry vertical, is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their team as a full-time hire.

This role is roughly 80% hands-on technical work and 20% direct client interaction, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys building product while also communicating directly with clients, product managers, designers, and other nontechnical stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Build and ship full-stack features, with some frontend exposure expected
• Collaborate closely with clients, PMs, and design to translate real-world needs into technical solutions
• Take ownership of projects and see them through from concept to deployment
• Work in an environment that expects genuine, adopted use of modern AI tools in daily workflow, not just resume-keyword familiarity

Must-Haves

• 2 to 4 years of professional engineering experience
• Strong engineering fundamentals; able to explain system design conversationally
• Hands-on project experience, including as part of a team
• Full-stack leaning with some frontend experience
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with nontechnical stakeholders

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience taking a project from zero to one, deployed and released
• Background in fintech or another regulated industry
• Prior client-facing or product-facing experience (e.g. working directly with a PM or executive stakeholder)

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $180,000 to $200,000
• Equity compensation
• On-site expectation of 4
• Minimal travel required (occasional conference attendance, no regular client-site travel)
