Frontend Engineering Team Lead

San Francisco Bay Area, CA (hybrid)

Our client is an early-stage biotech + AI company on a mission to transform how therapeutic knowledge is captured and shared throughout drug development. Their platform streamlines complex regulatory workflows by intelligently infusing each step with AI — helping bring safe, effective drugs to patients faster and more efficiently.

They’re now hiring a Frontend Engineering Team Lead to manage and grow a small but high-performing frontend team. This person will own frontend architecture decisions, ensure technical excellence, and contribute hands-on while mentoring engineers. The role reports directly to the CTO.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and lead a team of 4 frontend engineers

  • Hire, mentor, and retain top talent

  • Set high standards for performance and code quality

  • Drive architectural direction and roadmap execution

  • Maintain a healthy, productive team environment

  • Collaborate closely with product and backend teams

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience at an early-stage, product-focused startup (<50 people)

  • Deep experience with React and TypeScript on performant, collaborative apps

  • Strong architectural and systems design skills

  • Track record of mentoring and growing engineers

  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities

  • Bonus: experience in regulated or high-security environments (e.g., healthcare, finance)

Why It’s Exciting

  • Work on meaningful technology accelerating real-world medical progress

  • Competitive compensation ($245K–$275K) + equity

  • Comprehensive health coverage and generous PTO

  • Career growth within a company entering a scaling phase
