Job Title: Principal Engineer II

Our client, a high-growth, multi-national payments technology company, is building the next generation of capabilities to power its merchant-first ecosystem. They are establishing a new Technical Operations organization and are seeking a senior, hands-on technical leader to help design, implement, and support a hybrid multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise ecosystem, including the migration of legacy infrastructure onto modern platforms.
The Role:
- Provide senior Technical Operations leadership on all design and standards issues, including training and mentoring
- Evaluate, test, develop, and implement complex technical solutions to address business problems
- Support system and network infrastructure including switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, compute, storage, and virtualization
- Manage highly visible/risky changes and act as TechOps liaison to Engineering, Architecture, InfoSec, and Production Support
- Make recommendations for emerging and altered technologies to drive productivity and cost savings
- Coordinate the development of a comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plan and conduct periodic testing
- Provide regular reports to the CTO office on network usage, security, and service levels
- Communicate support efforts on project-related items to the wider organization
Skills Needed:
- 10+ years of enterprise-level system/network design and support experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Cloud environments
- 5+ years as a technical lead or architect
- Expert-level experience with Palo Alto Firewalls/Panorama and Juniper switching and routing products
- Expert-level knowledge of VXLAN & EVPN, OSPF & BGP routing protocols
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform) and scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Perl/Python)
- Experience with authentication technologies (LDAP/Active Directory, RADIUS), Windows Server, and Linux
