Our client, a high-growth, multi-national payments technology company, is building the next generation of capabilities to power its merchant-first ecosystem. They are looking for a Software Engineer to join a dynamic development center, designing and developing backend, service, and portal systems on their payment processing platforms using Ruby on Rails.

The Role:

  • Design and develop backend, service, and portal systems on the payment processing platform
  • Work across a variety of languages, frameworks, libraries, and services using modern software techniques, including Behavioral Driven Development, CI/CD, and AI-driven development
  • Understand merchant and partner needs and deliver high-quality, innovative solutions that add value
  • Improve software development processes, methodologies, and tools through automation and simplification
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure deliverables are technically accurate and delivered on time
  • Identify critical project activities, assist with estimation and planning, and communicate status and issues clearly
  • Assist with software deployment activities from internal test environments through to production
  • Operate effectively across a range of project types, from solo work to large team collaboration

Skills Needed:

  • 3-5 years of Software Engineering experience
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Proven production experience building and maintaining web applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and MVC architecture
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), including schema design and query optimization
  • Experience writing automated tests (RSpec, Minitest, or similar)
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and React is a plus
