Founding Full-Stack Engineer (Staff Level), Consumer App, NYC)

Location: NYC (Hybrid) | Seed-backed

Compensation: $150,000-$200,000 + equity

Primis is partnered with a new venture-backed consumer app is looking for a staff level Founding Engineer to build their first product and shape the company from day one.

They're creating a mobile app that blends self-discovery, entertainment, social connection, and AI personalization, designed to help people explore who they are and how they connect with the world.

As the first engineer, you'll partner directly with the founder and designer to:

• Build the first version of our mobile app (iOS / React Native / Flutter)
• Architect backend systems (APIs, databases, auth, personalization pipelines)
• Integrate LLMs and AI-driven recommendations
• Set engineering best practices, tooling, CI/CD, and testing frameworks
• Make foundational build vs. buy decisions
• Influence product, culture, and technical vision as we grow

What You Bring:

• 5+ years building consumer apps end-to-end
• Experience across the full stack (mobile + backend)
• Product intuition and care for delightful UX
• Comfort working in small teams, building 0→1, and moving fast
• NYC-based or open to being regularly in-person

This role is intended to grow into Head of Engineering they scale.
