Job description

Our client is looking for a talented Production Software Engineer to take ownership of the software systems that power their manufacturing and testing operations.

The role

Every product this company ships is 100% tested before leaving the factory. The production test environment is at the heart of ensuring quality, reliability, and efficiency and you’ll be the person developing and improving it.

You will work closely with production engineers and operations teams, designing and maintaining tools that integrate with test equipment, control manufacturing processes, and feed critical data back into the business. Your work will directly influence product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance software to test and program embedded PCBs during manufacturing.
  • Specify and integrate test equipment with production systems using serial and network communications.
  • Modernise and maintain legacy test frameworks into clean, scalable .NET/Blazor applications.
  • Integrate testing systems with the company’s ERP platform to streamline data flow and reporting.
  • Manage and maintain production databases (multi-site), including analysis tools and Statistical Process Control (SPC) dashboards.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify production challenges and deliver innovative test solutions.

What we’re looking for

  • Solid experience with C#/.NET and ASP.NET Core (Visual Studio).
  • Knowledge of web technologies such as Blazor, JSON, and API design.
  • Experience building intuitive UIs for production test equipment.
  • Understanding of serial communications and networking for hardware/software integration.
  • Proven experience working in a manufacturing or production test environment.

Desirable:

  • SQL database management & reporting.
  • Applying clean code principles and modernising legacy systems.
  • Knowledge of embedded firmware environments.

What’s on offer

  • The chance to own and shape the test environment that underpins all manufacturing operations.
  • Competitive salary with pension, healthcare, and life insurance.
  • A supportive environment where your ideas will directly influence factory efficiency and product quality.
