Position Overview:
This role sits within Managed Services which is part of the wider Technical Services business unit. Our suite of SaaS, distributed systems and product integrations help our customers run their businesses, providing their customers with industry leading hospitality technology products.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll bring your expertise into a fast paced team with multiple stakeholders and customers, to create, build and run the systems behind our industry leading solutions; ensuring our systems are highly available, secure, a performance appropriate to customer’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong, collaborative relationships acting as the glue between in-house development and platform teams
- Design, deploy and maintain robust, self-healing, and highly available platforms within the Azure Cloud and our OnPrem Datacentre
- Balance functional, operational and ongoing management requirements
- Be a key force in delivering to customers alongside our Development partners
- Bring a streetwise perspective to problem solving, reduction of complexity to deliver reliable, secure and cost-effective services
- Keep the balance between delivery and support and ensure all stakeholders are connected into our decision making process
- Participate in Incident Response and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills
- Demonstrative experience as a Senior DevOps engineer
- Skilled in working with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform to design, configure, build, and improve reliable and cost-effective Azure cloud systems
- Be a leader in using Infrastructure as Code principles, advocating version-controlled infrastructure code and sharing and creating best practices
- Be able to carry out Scripting and configuration within complex provisioning and deployment scenarios
- Support the development and operations teams with technical leadership and guidance, and encourage teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Understanding of networking, security concepts and protocols in an API centric environment
- Containerisation and orchestration experience with Kubernetes
- Skilled in using Agile methodologies and tooling
- Set up and optimise CI/CD tooling and techniques within an Azure DevOps environment using ADO pipelines
- Good understanding of availability and stability design patterns
- Proven expertise in tooling and products such as Azure Cloud, Service Bus, Event Grid, Istio, Key Vault, Mongo DB, SQL
