We’re looking for a Software Architect to lead the design of innovative systems that power a nationwide payment network. This role is perfect for someone who’s not only technically sharp but also thinks strategically, able to connect business goals with scalable, reliable architecture.
As our Software Architect, you’ll take charge of designing and developing the API, switch, and gateway platforms that are at the heart of our real-time payment processing system. You’ll set the technology direction, shape the architecture roadmap, and make sure everything aligns with the wider business strategy.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and guide the technical strategy with a practical, forward-looking approach
- Keep the company-wide architecture and tech roadmap up to date and evolving
- Spot and solve architecture challenges that affect multiple platforms with long-term fixes
- Set architecture standards, principles, and integration approaches
- Work closely with engineering teams to mentor, support, and review their design decisions
- Document and share architecture strategies, decisions, and best practices across teams
- Jump in and code when hands-on support is needed to get designs over the line
- Explore new technologies to help decide what to build in-house and what to buy
- Communicate technical strategy clearly to both tech teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Build strong relationships across teams and departments
What You Bring
- 10+ years’ experience in software design and architecture, ideally with complex, enterprise-level systems
- Proven skills building SaaS platforms, public APIs, and real-time distributed services
- Strong hands-on experience improving performance and scalability for web apps and databases
- Experience in payments is a big plus
- Ability to translate business needs into clean, scalable technical solutions
- Excellent communication skills, with experience influencing, mentoring, and leading cross-functional teams
- Strategic thinker who’s open to experimenting, iterating, and driving innovation
- Comfortable working through uncertainty and bringing clarity through smart architectural decisions
