About the Organisation

We are a next-generation consultancy specialising in data, AI, and cloud. Our mission is to accelerate delivery for clients, design impactful solutions, and build exceptional technology teams. Since 2017, we have established a leading position in the market, helping organisations across multiple industries achieve lasting transformation in data and technology.

Our solutions and delivery function is at the forefront of this, designing and delivering cutting-edge cloud and data solutions while nurturing technical talent. We are a collaborative, fast-growing team where innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing are central to our culture.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solution Architect (GCP Specialist) to join our Platform Engineering practice at Associate Director level. Acting as the technical design authority, you will lead the architecture and delivery of Google Cloud Platform solutions for a variety of clients and industries.

This is a senior role with a strong mix of technical leadership, solution design, and stakeholder engagement. You will guide implementation teams, provide strategic input to client programmes, contribute to thought leadership, and help strengthen our partner ecosystem. You’ll also mentor engineers and consultants, establishing yourself as the go-to expert for GCP within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Act as the technical authority on GCP solution design and deployment, overseeing blueprinting, assurance, and implementation.

  • Define best practices for scalable, secure, cost-effective, and sustainable cloud architectures.

  • Lead technical reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and governance processes.

Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Translate complex technical concepts into practical, actionable solutions for clients and partners.

  • Support pre-sales through proposals, client meetings, and workshops.

  • Enhance credibility by representing the organisation at industry events, publishing thought leadership, and building partner relationships.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Keep abreast of new GCP features and innovations, applying them to both client solutions and internal IP development.

  • Ensure solutions leverage the latest best practices across architecture, automation, and governance.

Team Development

  • Mentor and coach engineers, supporting their growth in GCP and broader cloud capabilities.

  • Contribute to internal training initiatives and foster a culture of technical excellence.

Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • In-depth understanding of GCP services across PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS.

  • Proven experience designing and deploying GCP solutions in the Data and AI domain.

  • Familiarity with modern data platform technologies (Databricks, Snowflake) in a GCP environment.

  • Strong enterprise networking experience, including Shared VPC and Hub & Spoke topologies.

  • Experience with GCP Landing Zones, IAM, and organisational hierarchy design.

  • Expertise in cloud security patterns (Zero Trust, Defence in Depth, least privilege, segregation of duties).

  • Strong background in observability, monitoring, and SRE-aligned practices.

  • Knowledge of Cloud FinOps principles and cost optimisation.

  • Skilled in automation and DevOps tooling: Terraform, CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

  • Hands-on engineering experience, with the ability to troubleshoot coding and infrastructure issues.

  • Strong system and design thinking, with experience producing logical and physical architecture diagrams.

  • At least 10 full project delivery cycles across multiple industries (FS&I, Energy, Utilities, Public Sector preferred).

  • Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS is desirable.

Leadership & Communication

  • Demonstrable experience providing technical leadership to cloud engineering teams, ideally in a consultancy setting.

  • Skilled in communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influencing senior decision-makers.

  • Experience supporting pre-sales activities, bid responses, and RFP presentations.

Education

  • Degree, Masters, or Doctorate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
