Job description

A fast-growing AI-driven SaaS company is on a mission to transform workplace productivity. Their platform uses AI to identify inefficiencies within business operations, define requirements, and automatically generate high-quality, precision software to solve them at scale.

Since launching in 2023, they’ve already achieved strong early revenue growth and secured backing from leading investors. With a team that includes talent from major global tech companies, they are now looking to hire a Backend & Integrations Engineer to strengthen their apps engineering function.

The role

The successful candidate will design, build, and optimise backend services, integrations, and workflow logic for SaaS applications. They’ll work across Python APIs, data workflows, and external system connectors, often taking automation-generated code and making it production-ready.

In addition, this person will act as the team’s AI development champion, embedding AI-powered workflows into engineering processes, setting guardrails, and helping colleagues ship high-quality code faster.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver backend features and API integrations (Python, FastAPI, gRPC, SQL)

  • Adapt and extend auto-generated pipelines and front-end outputs

  • Build connectors for APIs, files, and external systems

  • Integrate LLM-based capabilities with evaluation and monitoring

  • Drive AI-assisted development: guardrails, context packs, mentoring

  • Collaborate with product, data, platform, and support teams

Key skills & experience

  • Strong Python backend/API development experience, with SQL and data modelling

  • Proven integrations background (APIs, SFTP, SharePoint, webhooks)

  • Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools (Temporal, Dagster)

  • Experience using AI-assisted development in production

  • Comfortable working with generated code and automation improvements

  • Familiar with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP)

  • Keen interest in AI and upskilling others in AI-driven workflows

Package & benefits

  • Competitive salary plus share options

  • 25 days annual leave + public holidays

  • Excellent pension scheme (up to 7.5% matched)

  • Private healthcare (including family cover and pre-existing conditions)

  • Flexible hybrid working – 2 days per fortnight in central London office

  • Regular social events and team offsites

  • Access to gym and fitness classes

Research indicates that men will apply to a role when they only meet 50-60% of the descriptions, however, when looking at women and other minority groups, they can look for up to a 99% match in order to apply to a role. If you feel you are a fit for our role, please still apply, don’t worry if you don’t tick every single box. We’d still love to hear from you. We encourage underrepresented talent to apply to all our roles & support accessibility needs.
