Job Title: Databricks Associate Director
Location New York City (hybrid)
About the role:
As an Associate Director focused on Databricks you will lead delivery and capability development across the US market. Partnering closely with internal practice leads, you’ll provide hands-on technical oversight for Databricks deployments while helping organizations modernize their data platforms to become AI-ready. This position requires a balance of technical leadership, commercial influence, and strategic partner engagement. You’ll be responsible for scaling internal capability, supporting pre-sales efforts, and co-driving the broader partnership to ensure solutions are impactful, repeatable, and aligned to modern data strategies.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and continuously evolve the Databricks proposition, shaping delivery
approaches, commercial positioning, training, and go-to-market strategy to
maximize client outcomes and partner collaboration.
• Support presales and business development by contributing to scoping, solution
design, proposal development, proof of concepts, and architecture reviews,
ensuring clear articulation of value and risk.
• Act as a senior technical advisor on Databricks + Data engagements, ensuring
delivery quality across performance tuning, governance, and security architecture.
• Drive the strategic relationship with Partners, partnering on joint initiatives, co-developing IP, and strengthening influence across the partner ecosystem.
• Provide assurance and escalation leadership for complex Databricks programs, particularly within regulated or high-compliance industries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional practices to deliver advanced analytics, AI, and modern data platform solutions
• Oversee delivery governance, including margin protection, burn-down tracking, and quality assurance for fixed-price or large-scale projects.
Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and assuring Databricks
implementations at scale across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• Hands-on expertise deploying Databricks in cloud-native contexts.
• Proven ability to lead delivery teams, resolve technical and delivery challenges, and engage stakeholders from engineers to executives.
• Strong commercial skills, with a track record of supporting presales, shaping
solutions and pricing models, managing risk, and communicating business value.
• Ability to mentor teams on Data features
• Solid understanding of the software engineering lifecycle and modern data
engineering practices.
• Background working in consulting or enterprise environments with multidisciplinary
teams.
Preferred:
• Experience with additional modern data platforms: Snowflake, Power BI, Python, MS Fabric, Azure, AWS
• Exposure to AI/ML solutions
