Day Rate: £200 - £350 per day (negotiable)

The Role

This is a senior, hands-on Java development role focused on building, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.

The role is suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys working in structured environments, contributing to large codebases, and influencing technical quality and best practices.

This is a fully onsite role and requires immediate availability.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications

• Build backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and AWS

• Ensure applications are secure, scalable, and performant

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver new features

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

• Contribute to documentation throughout the SDLC

Quality & Optimisation

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and defects

• Maintain clean, well-structured, and testable code

• Support automation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives

Technical Leadership

• Provide guidance and support to other developers

• Share best practices and stay current with emerging technologies

Experience & Attributes

• 9–13 years of professional Java development experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC

• Solid exposure to AWS, SQL/MySQL, and JavaScript

• Some experience with React, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, and Jest is beneficial

• Comfortable working in large, enterprise environments

• Able to work onsite, 5 days per week, and start immediately
