Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Dubai, UAE - must already be based in Dubai.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer – ELV to design, specify, and manage the delivery of integrated audiovisual (AV) and extra-low-voltage (ELV) systems. The role involves overseeing projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating with both clients and internal teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead technical aspects of projects from design to final commissioning.

  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and system documentation.

  • Design, specify, and integrate ELV systems including:

  • Security: Access control platforms (e.g., Lenel or similar)

  • CCTV: Axis, Milestone, or equivalent systems

  • Passive Cabling Infrastructure: Belden, Panduit, CommScope/SYSTIMAX, Leviton, Corning

  • Active Networking: Cisco, Aruba/HP, Extreme, Netgear

  • Conduct site assessments to identify technical or logistical challenges.

  • Support project management with cost control and resource planning.

  • Test, commission, and troubleshoot AV and ELV systems (audio DSP, control platforms, network configuration, security, and CCTV).

  • Provide engineering support to installation teams both on-site and remotely.

  • Evaluate new products and technologies in collaboration with vendors.

  • Deliver project progress reports and maintain clear client communication.

  • Ensure system documentation and test results are properly recorded.

  • Travel to project sites as required.

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

    • Strong communication and client-facing skills.

    • Proficiency with AV and ELV test and calibration tools.

    • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic ability for complex AV/ELV systems.

    • Solid IT/networking knowledge including IP convergence.

    • Familiarity with structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, ANSI).

    • Vendor knowledge and experience with solutions from Cisco, Aruba, Extreme, Netgear, Belden, Panduit, CommScope, Corning, Axis, and Milestone.

    • Vendor certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba ACMA/ACMP, Lenel, Axis, Milestone) strongly preferred.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

    • Valid driver’s license required.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in AV and/or ELV engineering.

    • Relevant military or technical training may substitute for experience.

    • Preferred certifications include:

    • AV: CTS-D, CTS-I

    • Cabling/Infrastructure: BICSI RCDD, vendor-specific certifications

    • Networking: Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba, Extreme, Netgear

    • Security/Access Control: Lenel Certified Expert (LCE), S2 Certified, or similar

    • CCTV/Video Management: Axis Certified Professional, Milestone Technical Certification
