Job Overview

As a Quality Assurance Associate Manager, you will lead the Quality function and ensure products are consistently manufactured to the highest standards, meeting both internal expectations and consumer needs. This role is central to driving product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams. You will oversee audits, investigations, supplier partnerships, and regulatory alignment, while maintaining accurate records and reporting. The position reports directly to the Director of Product Development.

Key Responsibilities

 

Supplier Quality Management

  • Develop and implement a global supplier quality management system.
  • Establish supplier qualification processes and tiered management to assess, rate, and improve supplier performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits, evaluations, and scorecard reviews.
  • Monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Partner with suppliers to reduce defects, ensure compliance, and maintain audit readiness.
  • Facilitate risk analysis, non-conformance investigations, CAPA activities, and GMP compliance.
  • Travel as needed to onboard and support supplier partners.

 

Product Quality Management

  • Define and uphold quality standards for all processes related to manufacturing and supplier quality management.
  • Lead quality reviews during new product development with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Manage investigations and CAPA for quality incidents, complaints, and non-conformances.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, Packaging, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Track complaint trends and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Partner with vendors to strengthen process controls and prevent recurring issues.
  • Support regulatory compliance, including FDA Cosmetic GMPs, MoCRA, and ISO 22716.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of quality ownership across the organization.
  • Partner with Warehouse and Ecommerce teams to optimize shipment quality metrics.
  • Prepare executive-level quality reports and documentation.
  • Contribute to SOP creation, training, and implementation.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized documentation across platforms such as SharePoint, Box, Excel, Asana, Yogi, SAP, or NetSuite.
  • Support onboarding and training of team members in QA standards and expectations.
  • Participate in warranty reviews, supplier calls, and internal discussions.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • 3 - 6 years of experience in QA. This could be as a Quality controller (QC), Quality Coordinator, Quality Specialist, Analyst Quality Assurance or Quality Control, preferably in cosmetics or a related industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards, including FDA Cosmetic GMPs (and MoCRA) and ISO 22716.
  • Hands-on experience with quality inspection, defect metrics, and cosmetic evaluation.
  • Proven ability to lead root cause investigations, CAPA, and complaint resolution.
  • Strong record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
