Overview
Our client, a leading global fintech, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement a centralized enterprise data warehouse serving as a single source of truth for business information. This is a unique opportunity to shape and evolve a data engineering function within a dynamic, agile environment.

Transformation of data systems by designing and deploying architectures that deliver greater analytical and business value from diverse data sources. Develop highly performant, resilient, automated data pipelines and transformation applications using creative schema design.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and operational needs.
- Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for efficient, reliable data ingestion and integration.
- Analyse, organize, and transform raw and structured data for modelling, reporting, and insights.
- Implement methods to improve data quality, reliability, and performance.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data discrepancies, quality issues, and pipeline failures.
- Identify architectural bottlenecks, optimize performance, and contribute to scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers and business analysts to deliver features.
- Build and prototype algorithms and analytical tools for complex data analysis and automation.
- Design and support cloud-native workflows, including logging, monitoring, and storage services.
- Work closely with BI engineers, finance teams, and cross-functional partners to deliver scalable solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and participate in agile ceremonies.
- Support on-call responsibilities to maintain platform availability.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members and early adopters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical discipline.
- 4+ years advanced SQL experience (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- 4+ years experience with Java or Groovy.
- 3+ years interacting with web service APIs (SOAP, REST).
- 2+ years experience with DBT and data modelling.
- Knowledge of modern data platforms, distributed processing, and storage strategies.
- Experience with Snowflake is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile environments, GIT, Jenkins (CI), and automation testing.
- Knowledge of cloud concepts and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills.
