About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure to support our growing data initiatives. You will play a key role in building robust, secure, and governed data ecosystems using Microsoft Fabric and related technologies.

This role requires a solid foundation in data architecture, ETL/ELT development, cloud engineering, and a proactive mindset for solving data-related challenges. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into reliable, production-ready data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map and re-engineer manual data flows into scalable, reusable pipelines aligned with our data strategy.
  • Design and deploy robust, secure data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and OneLake to ensure consistent data quality and integrity.
  • Enforce data governance standards by implementing controls around data access, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop automated data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows using ETL/ELT best practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders, analysts, and data scientists to understand data needs and implement appropriate data modelling solutions.
  • Define and maintain data quality metrics, monitoring systems, and anomaly detection processes.
  • Optimise storage and query performance for analytical and operational use cases.
  • Conduct periodic audits and quality assessments to maintain high standards of data reliability and compliance.
  • Document pipeline architecture, data lineage, and transformations to enable traceability and transparency.
  • Provide technical leadership across data projects, ensuring alignment with architectural and operational standards.
  • Advocate for engineering best practices and contribute to evolving our data platform and ML-readiness.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2–3 years’ hands-on experience in data engineering roles with a focus on data pipeline development and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong programming proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and automation.
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT development and orchestration of data workflows.
  • Experience designing and managing data models (dimensional/star/snowflake) and data architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure
  • Knowledge of data warehousing tools and modern architectures like lakehouses.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, including data quality, privacy, and compliance standards.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify data inconsistencies and drive resolution.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
  • Passion for continuous learning and adapting to new tools and technologies.
